The sun always returns after an eclipse

July 6, 2015

Here we go, another step on the business road, got my business card proofs from Andy Meaden at A M Print Copy in Trowbridge today. Like to keep things local if i can. I know Andy from covering football, He does the programs for a lot of the Western league sides and also finds time to help run the Trowbridge & District League. The image on my card is of the eclipse earlier this year, I'm quite proud of it as they are not the easiest things to photograph and although you seem to have plenty of time, the weather usually misbehaves,as it did this year, you have to work out the best exposures as the light changes , all the while trying not to view the sun directly or fry the camera sensor.Oh, and the next partial one round here in England is in 2026. I also thought it would be an optimistic image to use, redundancy is not a pleasant experience after 33 years as a staff photographer ,but I hope to come through it and the sun will shine again on the other side.

Thanks are due so far to Andy Meaden, my old colleagues Steve Hill and David Bunton for their business help, advice and encouragment and  not least my wife Alison who has had to put up with me being a bit grumpy and pre-occupied of late!
